Fostering Intercultural Understanding and Diversity

Building dialogue on cultural values to foster respect and understanding between communities. How do we protect and foster a community that is stronger through its differences?

Objectives

 i. Promote Canadian values of protecting and fostering multiculturalism and diversity

ii. Build bridges to nurture understanding between ethnocultural communities, through dialogue on cultural values and challenges in the Canadian context

Why participate

  • Showcase your cultural values and heritage to other communities
  • Have fun connecting with and learning from other diverse cultures
  • Share and discuss difficulties associated with integration, acceptance and expectations within the Canadian context
  • Contribute to recommendations aimed at promoting differences, fostering intercultural understanding, and enabling more equal opportunity in society

Location: 5100 Yonge St, North York, ON, M2N 5V7, North York Civic Centre, Committee Room #1, (North York Centre Subway Station)
Date: Thursday December 6th, 2018, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. – Kindly arrive by 5:45pm for sign-in/registration and networking before a sharp 6pm start!

This workshop is organized in partnership with the London Cross Cultural Leaners Centre’s Intercultural Competency Advantage Program (ICAP) and supported by Association des Femmes Maroco-Canadiennes (ARGANA).

  1. It was great to meet people from different backgrounds and learn about their adaptation experience to the Canadian society.
