Examine the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms with an immigration lawyer / legal immigration scholar. Discuss democratic values and how various public institutions and laws impact our daily lives as diverse Canadians.

Objectives

i. broader understanding and appreciation of Canadian democratic values and institutions 

ii. better understanding of rights within the Charter to strengthen your voice in building more equitable participation and treatment within Canadian society 

iii. increased knowledge of electoral and political processes with which to be active and engaged citizens for a better tomorrow
